Special Guest at the Marias River Stampede: Miss Rodeo Montana
Miss Rodeo Montana, Lindsay Garpestad, will be in attendance and start the opening ceremonies at the rodeo.
Calling Simms home, Lindsay is the 22 year old daughter of Vonda Harrison and the late Lonny Garpestad. Lindsay is a Cum Laude and Sigma Beta Delta graduate of Carroll College in Helena, with two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing.
Lindsay is honored to have the opportunity to give back to the agricultural programs and organizations that have served generations of her family. As the sixth-generation raised on a Montana ranch, she has been blessed with the opportunity to live the western lifestyle. She is grateful and eager to promote the western lifestyle, rodeo, and the state of Montana, through positive, educational, and professional interactions with everyone she meets.
Growing up personally knowing numerous former Miss Rodeo Montana's, she seeks to honor a long line of hard working, dedicated, and successful Montana women, who have held the title of Miss Rodeo Montana and hopes of Miss Rodeo America. Finally, Lindsay wants to encourage and inspire the next generation of Montana cowgirls and cowboys by promoting the fundamental purposes, practices, and principles that are essential to representing Montana and the "greatest sport on dirt," rodeo.
Mutton Busting Returns!
All the young cowboys & cowgirls will have a chance to ride professional bucking sheep again this year, courtesy of our local Zane–the-Z-Man–Drishinski. (Who, by the way, is our clown at the Rodeo both nights!)
Magic In Motion to Perform
Rae-Lynn Armstrong and Madison MacDonald of Magic in Motion will be performing both nights of the Marias River Stampede PRCA rodeo, July 22 & 23. The trick-riding duo has performed across Canada and the United States at world renowned events and rodeos, including performances at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for several consecutive years. What a treat to have them here for our hometown PRCA rodeo!
